2015 March Board of Review
The 2015 March Board of Review meetings are scheduled to commence in the 2nd week of March. You will receive your 2015 Assessment Change Notice by the end of February (14 days prior to the first meeting of the March Board of Review). The dates and times of the March Board of Review will be listed at the BOTTOM of this notice. After receipt of your assessment change notice you may either:
- Call the Assessor's office and set an appointment to go in front of the Board. OR
- File a written appeal by mail or hand delivery.
**PLEASE NOTE** ALL WRITTEN APPEALS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:00 pm on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2015.
The March Board of Review meetings are held each year to hear VALUATION and CLASSIFICATION appeals ONLY including:
- 2015 Assessed Value
- 2015 Taxable Value, Headlee Additions and/or Losses
- Classification of property (Residential, Commercial, Industrial, etc.)

MILLAGE RATES - 2014
As you maybe aware, Michigan disabled veterans are now eligible for full property tax exemption following the signing of P.A. 161 by the Governor. As we move forward with the implementation of this exemption, we are looking to get the word out to all disabled veterans. Please see the Disabled Veterans Exemption Affidavit link below which is required to be filed annually with the local assessor along with a yearly letter (sample link below) from the Department of Veterans Affairs addressing the veterans type and percentage of disability, receipt of pecuniary assistance for specially adapted housing or declaring an individual unemployable.

Please note that as part of this new legislation, it is retroactive to include the 2013 tax year, so it is imperative that the affidavit is submitted to the local assessor prior to July 10, 2014 to be eligible for the 2013 tax year.
