Honor Guard
The Dearborn Heights Police Department's Honor Guard is comprised of sworn members of the department from various divisions and ranks within the department. The team members go through extensive training and must be disciplined, dependable and able to work as a unified squad. The Honor Guard represents the department at several special details throughout the year including city, state and national events. The Honor Guard also pays tribute to our fallen brothers and sisters in law enforcement during memorial and funeral services. Functions carried out by the Honor Guard include presentation of the colors, taps, and the twenty-one gun salute.
All requests for participation of the department's Honor Guard in an event must be made and processed through the Office of the Chief of Police.
