The mission of the Dearborn Heights Police Department is to protect life and property, preserve the peace, prevent crime, aggressively pursue violators of the law and enhance the quality of life of the residents of Dearborn Heights.  To accomplish this mission, the members of this department will work in cooperation with the community and other law enforcement agencies in a manner which reflects the highest degree of integrity and professionalism and will strive to make the Dearborn Heights Police Department a premier 21st century police department which is progressive, proactive and professional.

Police Department Overview
The Dearborn Heights Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency charged with the responsibility of providing 24-hour police services to the 57,774 citizens who reside within the 12.07 square mile City of Dearborn Heights.  The authorized strength of the department is 74 sworn police officers and 17 full-time civilian employees.  There are also 21 part-time reserve officers who supplement the full-time ranks.  The department is headquartered in the Dearborn Heights Justice Center, located at the corner of Michigan Ave & Beech Daly, which opened in 2003.
