Juvenile Bureau 

       The department's juvenile officers, Cpl. Marty Biek and Cpl. Tom Boljesic, have responsibility for handling all matters concerning juveniles (16 years old and under) that come within the jurisdiction of the Dearborn Heights Police Department.  Juvenile officers are specifically charged with the responsibility of investigating offenses committed by juvenile offenders, conducting investigations into allegations of child abuse/neglect, placing juveniles into the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility and following up on Child Protective Service referrals.

       Cpl. Biek and Cpl. Boljesic also act as a liaison between the police department and the high schools and junior high schools in the Crestwood School District and the District 7 School Disctrict.  Both officers spend time each week in each high school (Crestwood High School & Annapolis High School) and in each of the junior high schools (Riverside & O.W. Best) working with the faculty and students to investigate complaints originating in the schools, prevent crimes and improve relations.
