Canine (K-9) Unit

     The K-9 Unit consists of two dogs and their handlers:  Cpl. Jeffrey Colon & Chase and Cpl. Jeffrey Ross & Ozzy.  The dogs and their handlers are trained in drug detection, tracking and building searches.  Both dogs are trained and certified through the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA).  The K-9 teams are assigned to Road Patrol duties allowing for a quick response to incidents where the use of the K-9 would be beneficial.  The K-9 teams also assist on all drug-related search warrant executions, perform drug sweeps of local schools, and make public relation appearances throughout the city.
