Last week, the homes in the Ecorse Creek Watershed were affected by flooding. This is a regional concern, affecting not only Dearborn Heights, but Taylor, Inkster, Allen Park and other communities. This is a reoccuring situation. When asked, what can be done to fix it, residents need to know that they can help. There is an Army Corps of Engineer project that will solve most of the home flooding. This project has been talked about since 2004 when it was still at the county level and is the farthest it has ever gone. While there has been some bumps in the road, the Army Corps has submitted a plan and is waiting for the County to accept it. As a resident, of not only Dearborn Heights, but any community along the Ecorse Creek, you can voice your support to your Wayne County officials to encourage them to move forward with this solution.
