Dearborn Heights have completed the nine-week
training program, and now belong to the family of
Dearborn Heights CERT members.

CERT training includes nine weekly (evening) classes dedicated to:
- emergency first aid
- fire safety
- damage assessment
- severe weather & flooding conditions
- search & rescue
- organization/teamwork
- disaster psychology
- terrorism
- emergency first aid

Along with the 9-week training program, all Dearborn Heights CERT members are required to attend the team's quarterly "refresher" classes and drills (one evening per quarter) to keep their skills up-to-date.

Dearborn Heights CERT members also help educate the community on the importance of emergency preparedness by sponsoring informational projects in the community, as well as providing assistance at festivals and other community-based activities.
